Preparation for Planting
The Baylis Planter is fully lined and designed to their full depth, ensuring ample space for healthy root development. Furthermore, the Baylis planter will come with drainage holes as standard, which is essential for preventing waterlogging and promoting optimal plant health. However, in order to achieve the best results and enhance drainage further, we recommend adding a layer of lightweight expanded aggregate, such as clay balls, below the soil. Specifically, this additional layer not only improves drainage but also helps to aerate the soil, thereby allowing roots to breathe and thrive. Consequently, by implementing this simple yet effective strategy, you can create an ideal environment for your plants.
Shallow Tray (For Faux Foliage)
Standard depth is 120mm; this measurement is designed to meet the typical needs of our customers as we understand that specific projects may require unique specifications. Therefore, please contact us if a different depth is required. Our team is ready to assist you in finding a solution that best fits your requirements.
Composition
Mild steel and pressure-treated, sustainably sourced timber are the primary materials used in our construction process, ensuring both durability and environmental responsibility. Mild steel is known for its strength and versatility, making it an excellent choice for structural applications. Meanwhile, the pressure treatment of the timber not only enhances its resistance to decay and insects but also extends its lifespan, allowing it to withstand various weather conditions.
We prioritise sustainability by sourcing our timber from responsibly managed forests, which helps promote eco-friendly practices and supports the health of our planet. To further enhance the longevity of our products, all fasteners used in the assembly are made from stainless steel. This choice not only prevents rust and corrosion but also ensures that the structural integrity remains intact over time. Together, these carefully selected materials contribute to a product that is both reliable and environmentally conscious.
Wood Finish
Standard paint and stain finishes are Cuprinol Shades, known for their durability and vibrant colours. In addition to these popular options, we do offer other manufacturers’ stains, which are available upon request, allowing you to choose a finish that perfectly matches your vision. For further details about our range of products and to explore your options, please call the office for more information.
Metal Frame
Powder coated black as standard. Sleek and modern finishes not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the product but also provides excellent durability and resistance to wear and tear. For those looking to personalise their items further, other colours are available on request. Whether you want a vibrant hue to make a bold statement or a subtle shade to blend in seamlessly, we are happy to accommodate your preferences.

Castors/Legs
Planters are supplied as standard without wheels or feet and sit directly on the ground. This design choice allows for stability and direct contact with the soil, promoting healthy root growth. We would recommend you place the planter on blocks for improved drainage, which is crucial for maintaining optimal moisture levels and preventing waterlogging. For those seeking greater mobility, heavy-duty industrial specification castors are available as an option for planter portability, allowing you to easily reposition the planter as needed to capture sunlight or adapt to changing landscapes. Alternatively, for more static planters, there is the option of raising the planter on legs high enough to allow a pump truck to fit under for moving the planter when required, ensuring flexibility even in a fixed location. The height of the legs is 90mm, which strikes a balance between accessibility and stability while facilitating ease of movement when necessary.
Rope
“Natural” polyhemp decorative rope handles are attached to the planter upon request. These handles are designed to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the planter, offering a rustic touch that complements various décor styles. However, it’s important to note that these handles are decorative only and are not to be used to pull or lift the planter. Using them for such purposes could lead to damage not only to the handles but also to the planter itself. Therefore, we recommend handling the planter with care and utilising appropriate lifting techniques to ensure its longevity and maintain its beauty.
Warranty
1 year
Realistic looking artificial flowers and greenery has become the popular choice for filling planters. With no maintenance expense artificial plants cost less over time with the bonus of arriving fully grown. No patience or feeding is required with no risk of damage thorough over watering or frost. Brandline offers 6 standard arrangements, but bespoke options are available. Call our sales office for information and prices. Prices depend on the coverage and the arrangement you choose. Keep in mind plants arranged down the centre of a planter can look as delightful as a full edge to edge arrangement and cost considerably less.
